Rounding and foreign currencies

Expense automatically converts expenses in foreign currency to your base currency (SEK by default) with daily updated exchange rates, and rounds to whole amounts. Here you see how it works and what to do if the amount differs from the receipt.

🔍 How Expense calculates

Step What happens Example (base currency SEK)
1. Currency conversion The amount is converted to your base currency with today's exchange rate USD 100 × 10.50 = SEK 1,050
2. Rounding The amount is rounded to a whole amount SEK 100.35 → SEK 100

Rounding rule: 0.50 or more is rounded up, below 0.50 is rounded down. Example: SEK 100.75 → SEK 101.

💱 Where do the exchange rates come from?

Expense fetches market-based exchange rates from external sources. The rates are updated daily. You do not need to convert anything yourself.
