Two approvers with an auditor

Do expense reports need to be checked by two people? With an auditor, an extra step is added to the flow: the expense report is audited first and then approved.

  • 🔍 How the flow works

    Step Who Status afterwards
    1. The user submits User Submitted
    2. Audit Auditor Audited
    3. Approval Approver Authorized

⚠️ When the auditor is activated, all expense reports must be audited before they can be approved. This also applies to administrators.

👉 Applies to: administrators in organizations with higher demands on internal control.

    ⚙️ Step 1 – Activate the auditor

    1. Go to Administrate > Admin dashboard.
    2. Under Actions, click Enable in the auditor box (Your auditor is disabled in workflow).

    👤 Step 2 – Give auditor permission

    1. Go to Administrate > Persons and open the person.
    2. Select Can audit.
    3. Click Save.

📧 Step 3 – Turn on email notifications for the auditor

Go to Administrate > Persons, open the auditor and select Wants email notification when reports are ready for approval. The auditor then gets an email when something is waiting, and no expense reports are missed.

    📊 Follow up

Under Accounting > List All, the status Audited shows when the audit is done. The auditor can work both on the web and in the app.

🔄 Change the auditor or approver on an expense report

    1. Open the expense report.
    2. In the status field, select another person under Audited by or Approved by.

✅ The expense report now goes to the person you selected.
