”Meet Acubiz” is a series of articles that’ll take you behind the scenes at Acubiz. They’ll tell the stories of everyday heroes. In this article, the spotlight is turned toward Rebecca from Legal.

How did you end up in the role of Legal & Compliance Specialist at Visma Acubiz?

In January 2024, I graduated as a cand.merc.(jur.)/business lawyer from CBS. I found the job posting for Compliance Specialist at Acubiz on LinkedIn and was attracted by the company’s values. The posting focused not only on professional requirements but also on well-being and responsibility, which were important to me. I find legal advice and compliance exciting. I have always been detail-oriented and structured, while also thriving in a role where I can juggle multiple tasks.

What does a typical day at the office look like for you?

My day starts with a review of my email inbox and calendar to prioritise the day’s tasks. I often have a couple of meetings throughout the day, and much of what I do involves collaboration with other departments at Acubiz. Working with other departments ensures that we comply with legislation and our contractual obligations to customers. During the day, I also enjoy taking small, cosy breaks with my colleagues.

Do you have a particular experience at work that you remember fondly?

One of my most memorable experiences was when I was responsible for developing and updating our contract framework, which was very well received. It was motivating to see my work have a direct and positive impact on the company and to receive recognition from my colleagues. Additionally, I recently received the quarterly award as “Strategy Star.” This is voted on by my colleagues, who choose the employee they believe excels in terms of strategic areas or our values. It’s really a great recognition to receive!

What motivates you to go to work every day?

My motivation comes from the opportunity to make a difference and the recognition I experience in my work. I am driven by the desire to improve processes and thrive in the interdisciplinary collaboration with my colleagues, where good relationships and common goals create a positive work environment.

Do you have a personal favourite feature in Acubiz?

The expense management function is a favourite of mine as it improves efficiency and minimises manual errors. I mainly use it to register the benefits Acubiz offers its employees, such as paid internet and fitness subscriptions.

Share a fun fact about yourself!

I am very competitive, although it took me many years to admit it. I now embrace this side of myself, and it’s probably one of the reasons I have played football for nearly 20 years. It has taught me the value of hard work and being a team player. Interestingly, my first day at Acubiz was also Football Jersey Friday, where I won a ravioli cutter for my football skills in shooting at goal.
