“Hveder” should still be enjoyed on a day off

On the last day of February this year, Store Bededag (Great Prayer Day) was abolished as a public holiday in 2024 by a majority in the Danish Parliament. However, at Visma Acubiz, we still believe that “Hveder” should be savored on a day off.

As a private company, we have chosen to keep the holiday as a day off for all employees in the future.

“For our employees, Store Bededag is a respite in a busy everyday life. Additionally, it is, of course, an important part of our shared cultural heritage and history. We are facing a future where we will stay longer and longer in the workforce. Therefore, we do not think reducing our collective days off and public holidays makes sense,” explains Henrik Malling, Managing Director.

A popular decision among employees

The decision has, unsurprisingly, been well-received among employees:

“It’s really nice with that appreciation. I feel that we are already running fast, and Store Bededag is one of the days when we have the opportunity to unwind and take a break. So I’m just really happy,” says Ewa Halling

“It’s nice to keep Store Bededag as a day off. It’s great that our employer goes to such lengths for us employees,” adds Puk Bak

Initiatives to create an attractive workplace

It should be fun to work at Visma Acubiz, and our employees should feel that we offer attractive conditions:

“It is crucial for Visma Acubiz to be an attractive workplace for talented employees. Salary is often considered the most important competitive factor. It is also important, but fortunately, many other factors also play a role – such as the aforementioned day off. Previously, in connection with the implementation of the new parental leave law, we chose to offer 26 weeks of leave with full pay for all employees because we want to support gender equality in the labor market,” continues Henrik.
